Private Dental Practice Brokerage | Greater Montréal

Finding the Right Buyer for Your Dental Practice.

A private, personalized approach to selling the practice you've spent years building.

Finding a buyer is one thing. Finding the right person to take over your patients, your team and the practice you've built is something entirely different.

At Meditax, we believe selling a dental practice deserves a more thoughtful approach than traditional brokerage.

We don't publicly advertise your clinic or circulate its details to hundreds of potential purchasers. Instead, we work through a carefully developed private network of dentists whom we've taken the time to meet and understand personally.

Our approach is built around discretion, carefully selected introductions and a transaction process tailored to your practice, your objectives and the transition you envision.

Your Dental Practice Is Not Another Listing.

A dental practice isn't an ordinary business.

Your patients know you. Your team depends on you. Your reputation is closely connected to the clinic you've spent years building.

Announcing a potential sale prematurely can create unnecessary uncertainty among employees, patients and colleagues.

That's why we never publicly list the dental practices we represent.

We introduce your practice privately and selectively, only to prospective buyers whose objectives and acquisition criteria suggest a meaningful fit.

No mass email campaigns.
No public advertisements.
No open houses.

Your decision to sell remains confidential until you're ready to communicate it.

Every buyer's questionnaire covers
  • Acquisition objectives
  • Preferred locations
  • Practice size
  • Timeline
  • Real estate preferences
  • Intended involvement in the clinic
01Detailed questionnaire
02Personal review of each profile
03Conversation by Teams or phone

We Know Our Buyers Before They Ever Know About Your Practice.

The quality of a buyer introduction begins long before a clinic becomes available.

At Meditax, prospective purchasers don't simply add their names to a mailing list.

Every buyer begins by completing a detailed questionnaire covering their acquisition objectives, preferred locations, practice size, timeline, real estate preferences and intended involvement in the clinic.

We personally review each profile and arrange an introductory conversation by Microsoft Teams or phone.

This allows us to understand not only what buyers are looking for, but what they want to build, how they intend to operate their practice and which opportunities they would genuinely consider.

We also discuss their financing readiness, without presenting this preliminary assessment as formal financing approval.

When you entrust us with your practice, we're not starting with a list of strangers. We're drawing on relationships we've already taken the time to develop.

Fewer Introductions.More Meaningful Opportunities.

We don't believe that exposing your practice to the greatest number of buyers necessarily produces the best outcome.

Instead, we identify prospective purchasers whose criteria, objectives and expectations correspond to what your practice has to offer.

01

Some are acquiring their first clinic and intend to build their careers there.

02

Others already own practices and are looking to expand.

03

Some want to practise full-time, while others are primarily interested in ownership and management.

These distinctions matter.

The right buyer for one dental practice may be entirely wrong for another.

Our role is to recognize that difference before an introduction is made.

A Private Visit Should Be a Meaningful Meeting.

We don't arrange open houses or bring a succession of strangers through your clinic.

Before a prospective purchaser is invited to visit, we take the time to discuss the opportunity, provide the available documentation under appropriate confidentiality arrangements and determine whether there is genuine interest.

When a visit is arranged, you meet the prospective buyer personally. This is an essential part of our approach.

The buyer needs to understand more than the equipment, financial statements and patient base. They need to understand the person behind the practice, the team, the patients and the transition you envision.

And you deserve the opportunity to meet the person who may eventually take over what you've built.

A successful introduction isn't simply about whether a buyer likes your clinic. It's about whether the two of you can envision a successful transition.

Practice Valuation

It All Starts With the Appraisal.

Every sale strategy is built on a reliable appraisal of your practice.

The valuation is a separate mandate from our brokerage service. Some sellers come to us with an appraisal already in hand; others need one, and we help them get started. In every case, we analyse the appraisal to prepare our strategy for the sale.

Who prepares it matters. Even an evaluator who has done this many times may not be the right choice. It is essential to work with a firm specialised in Québec, where the valuation is prepared by Québec professionals, for Québec.

You already have an appraisal

If it was prepared by a certified dental practice evaluator, that's great. We analyse it to prepare our strategy for the sale.

or
You don't have one yet

Obtaining an appraisal is usually the first step we take together. Book a consultation and we'll let you know how to get started.

Preparing Your Practice Before Introducing It to Buyers.

Finding the right purchaser is only one part of our brokerage service.

Before approaching potential buyers, we work with you to ensure your practice is properly prepared and positioned for sale.

We analyse your practice's appraisal and review the elements listed here to prepare our strategy for the sale.

The objective is to set an asking price supported by the appraisal, identify potential obstacles early and present the practice with the documentation a serious purchaser and their lender will expect.

What we review with you
  • 01The appraisal of your practice
  • 02The commercial lease
  • 03Financial information
  • 04Corporate structure
  • 05Equipment
  • 06Clinic condition
  • 07Any issues that could affect the transaction

A well-prepared practice gives buyers greater clarity—and gives you a stronger foundation for negotiations.

How Our Private Brokerage Process Works

01

Understanding Your Practice & Objectives

We begin by learning about your clinic, your reasons for selling, your preferred timeline and the transition you envision.

02

Appraisal Analysis & Sale Strategy

We analyse your practice's appraisal, review the business and identify any matters that should be addressed before approaching buyers, to prepare our strategy for the sale.

03

Identifying Suitable Purchasers

We review our private network and personally contact dentists whose acquisition criteria and objectives suggest a potential fit.

04

Confidential Information & Private Visits

Interested purchasers review the available documentation under appropriate confidentiality arrangements before we coordinate a private meeting and clinic visit.

05

Negotiating the Offer

We assist with negotiations concerning the purchase price, transaction terms, financing conditions and your post-sale transition.

06

Legal, Tax & Closing Coordination

We coordinate the legal and tax aspects of the transaction, the required documentation and the closing process in accordance with the agreed scope of representation.

Your Transition Matters as Much as the Sale.

Selling your practice doesn't necessarily mean leaving dentistry the day the transaction closes.

Many purchasers expect the selling dentist to remain involved for a period following the sale, often through an associate agreement.

The duration and nature of that transition can influence a buyer's interest, financing arrangements and the terms they're prepared to offer.

Some sellers want to retire as quickly as possible. Others prefer to continue practising part-time, gradually reduce their schedule or help the incoming owner become established.

At Meditax, we discuss your intentions from the beginning so that we can identify purchasers whose expectations are compatible with yours.

The right buyer isn't only someone who can purchase your practice. It's someone whose plans can work with your own.

There is no single transition that works for everyone

Why Meditax?

Brokerage Informed by Legal & Tax Expertise.

Founded in 2011 by Me Cathy Nehme, a lawyer specializing in corporate, commercial and tax law, Meditax brings a broader perspective to dental practice brokerage.

We understand that the purchase price is only one part of a successful transaction. The corporate structure, tax consequences, commercial lease, financing conditions, purchaser's objectives and seller's transition are all connected.

Our experience advising both buyers and sellers gives us valuable insight into how purchasers evaluate opportunities, what lenders require and which issues can complicate a sale.

Rather than treating brokerage as a simple introduction between two parties, we approach it as part of a carefully coordinated transaction.

From preparing your practice to identifying the right purchaser and negotiating the sale, our focus remains on your interests and the outcome you want to achieve.
